With a population of 66,000, Eagan is one of Minnesota’s largest communities, currently ranking 11th in population.
Established in 1860 and incorporated as a city in 1972, Eagan is home to a number of large employers, including Thomson Reuters’ legal publishing division, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota, a United Parcel Service (UPS) distribution center, and Coca Cola, among many others. Eagan is also the location of the new Minnesota Vikings training facility – the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, which features a summer training stadium for the Vikings and six practice fields. The Minnesota Vikings museum is also located in the Viking Lakes development.
Eagan is known for its diversity in housing stock, multiple shopping opportunities and convenient location – with quick and easy access to Interstates 494 and 35E, and the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Eagan was named the 14th best community in which to live in 2012 by Money Magazine.
